Mooring Inspections

   We are very happy to be able to offer you the mooring inspection service you need to stay in compliance with the harbor master. Our mooring inspections consist of of a diving which inspects and measures all aspects needed to complete the necessary information required by the Monterey Harbor Masters office. The Inspection does not cover the cost of any repairs which the harbor masters office will require for you to be complaint with their guidelines. Below you will find pricing for mooring inspections and repairs.

   NOTE -- all prices are for labor Only! Any parts, hardware, or applicable taxes are not included in the listed pricing. 

Mooring Inspections -- $90 

 (We will turn-in the required documents to the harbor masters office upon completion of inspection.)

Mooring repair -- $75 an hour w/ 1 hour minimum

Note: This rate is based on us supplying all material.

All mooring repairs which the customer supplies the material, mooring repair will be charged out at $125 dollars an hr. 

   All mooring inspection and repair pricing is based on traditional mooring systems. If your system is not a traditional one or two block to chain to ball system, we will charge an additional fee. Please inquire with us if your mooring system is not a traditional block to chain to ball system for pricing. 

Items checked in mooring inspection include but are not limited to 

Block size, number of,  and condition

Block shank measurement and condtion 

block connecting chain and shackles size, condition and safety-wire check

Multi-section chain size, condition, weakest link measurement, and shackle(s) size, condition, and safety-wire check

Ball size, condition, and numbering

Top-side shackle, swivel-shackle, pennant shackles and pennant lines size, condition, and safety-wire check

Depth of sea-water at block, tide level at time of inspection, time of inspection, and all other pertinent information required to fulfill the required information on the Monterey Harbor Masters mooring inspection sheet. 

NOTE -- A copy of the inspection sheet will be made available for the vessel owner upon request by the vessel owner. S/V Wicked Wahine Charters & Diving Services will automatically submit any mooring inspection to the Monterey Harbor.
